Accessibility in public transport falls by the wayside

Complete accessibility in Switzerland's public transport system continues to fall by the wayside. At its meeting last week, the National Council rejected an increase in funding for the adaptation of the railway infrastructure.

This means that 17 SBB projects that are ready for construction cannot be realised and 540 railway stations cannot be used independently by people with disabilities. A situation that should be a thing of the past according to the Disability Discrimination Act (BehiG). Click here for the press release from Inclusion Handicap (in German).
