New city map shows accessible tour through Bern

The Claire & George Foundation has created an accessible tour of Bern's Old Town. It is ideal for anyone who wants to explore our federal capital independently and without any surprises.

Anyone familiar with Bern knows that cobblestones, slopes and unpredictable steps can be challenging. This is exactly where the new city map comes in. The tour follows paved paths and easily navigable cobblestones, with steps no higher than 30 millimetres.

Further information about the old town tour:

  • Duration: approx. 2 hours
  • Break: numerous cafés and restaurants along the route are accessible
  • Stair lifts and wheelchair-accessible toilets: you can obtain a temporary Eurokey from the Tourist Information Office at Bern railway station
