At upgraded tram stops in Zurich, you can now board any tram independently. Since the beginning of March, the Zurich Public Transport Authority (VBZ) network has been operating exclusively with low-floor trams. This benefits people in wheelchairs or with reduced mobility, as well as passengers with pushchairs or walking frames.
Wheelchair users should ideally use the third door from the front. This is where the wheelchair spaces and the blue wheelchair button are located. Due to the switch to low-floor trams, the wheelchair symbol on the digital information boards at stops is no longer necessary and will be removed.
