It is with deep sadness that we bid farewell to our founder and honorary president Guido A. Zäch. He passed away peacefully on 16 February 2026, surrounded by his family.

Guido A. Zäch worked tirelessly on behalf of people with spinal cord injuries. He pursued his vision of creating a comprehensive network of services – from the accident site to rehabilitation and lifelong support. In 1990, he established the Swiss Paraplegic Centre, a centre of excellence for patients and a meeting place where they can feel at home.
We are incredibly grateful and proud of his invaluable achievements. Over 2,000 employees are continuing his life's work and are committed to meeting the needs of people in wheelchairs.
The entire Swiss Paraplegic Group extends its deepest condolences to his family and wishes them strength during this difficult time.
